I have seen a big difference in these. For in the case of the world, "knowing" is something of a relative term. The knowing that is in Christ ALWAYS leads to a "counting on". It is sad but true, that the IC is constantly talking about the Cross of Christ and the forgiveness in Christ but, only in a way that disallows any true reliance on it's reality. For they view it as something intermixed with the flesh. IN other words they view according to death. But we who have been made to rely solely on the cross of Christ are only burdened by the reachings and reasonings of man to somehow[if it were possible] reach Gods true wisdom. It can not be done. At the same time the IC is promising, demanding and even accusing us about deliverance through a worldly, earthly view of His cleansing. We will constantly be slipping in and out of a sense of forgiveness until we finally get sick and tired of it all and see that there is none in the system of mans "wise" interpretations of Gods true wisdom.

"He has taken that sin out of the way when He was judged on the cross for it. But there is someone who does not want you to know that ... or to count upon its reality. That someone desires for the pain from that thing to remain in your consciousness so that you will battle it so that you may be brought under a condemnation long since done away with."-Jim

The world says, "Knowledge is power," but the knowledge of God is not according to the world's understanding, is it? The knowing that we have been brought into in Christ is a living knowledge because it's source is the very spirit of God who is within us. :)

Jim,
I REALLY like that, LIVING KNOWLEDGE. It IS alive isn't it? For the Holy Spirit is alive. This is in us and we are in it/Him.

Yes the world is living through the elemental mind..and that knowledge is works. The living mind needs no help from that thing that is dead.

The dialog in this thread is very helpful to me.  And this that you wrote last Adam:

Quote:

There IS a knowledge that is works but then again, there is the living knowledge as Jim called it.

Jim,
It's funny[personally speaking] for many years I had these understandings within my heart and even flowing through me that we discuss today. I had a hunch that there was something different about how it was that I was interpreting the things I heard in the world as compared to many of those around me in church etc.. I never could totally see it for what it was for many around me claimed something similar to my experience but never seemed to really be doing anything more than speaking "similar" words but holding the opposite meaning. All this said...

whenever I heard things like "it's all good" or javascript:AddSmileyIcon('')even "knowledge is power" there would be something in me that would rejoice! Simply because of the spirits interpretation of it in me...yet I became confused because it appeared that the world had some kind of seeming benefit from standing by these phrases as well-this puzzled me!!! Now I realize that there "power" and "good" was only that of the fleshly mind though from the outside it appeared that it captured the living meaning that I knew of God.[it

didn't!] This extended out the time of restlessness in my life for sure but now has become crystal clear from my time here on the Shack for close to a decade now.
